Aspiring Nyamira County Senator Eng. Adams Mochenwa tied the knot with his longtime partner, Nelia Ondabu, in a glamorous wedding ceremony held at his family home in Gesure, Nyamira County.
The event drew hundreds of guests, including both families, close friends, and several dignitaries from the region.
The groom and key members of the wedding party dazzled guests by donning elaborate Nigerian agbada attire flowing, embroidered robes symbolizing elegance and prestige in Yoruba culture.
The choice added a unique, cross-cultural touch to the lavish event, turning heads amid the festive atmosphere.
Mochenwa, a geospatial engineer who unsuccessfully contested the Nyamira senatorial seat in the 2022 general elections where he finished third with over 22,000 votes used the joyful occasion to reaffirm his political ambitions.
The youthful leader, known for his humble campaigns in the past, reminded attendees that he will be on the ballot in the 2027 elections.
In a light-hearted moment that drew laughter from the crowd, Mochenwa cracked a joke, suggesting that perhaps some voters in 2022 hesitated to support him because he was unmarried.
“Now I have a wife,” he quipped, eliciting cheers as he hinted at addressing past perceptions head-on in his next bid.The newlyweds were surrounded by well-wishers throughout the day, with the ceremony highlighting themes of family, community, and future aspirations.
