Nyamira, Kenya – Governor Amos Nyaribo has announced the arrival of a team of specialist doctors from the Medical Missions Foundation, USA, in preparation for a week-long surgical camp set to commence tomorrow, January 11, 2026, at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital.
In a statement highlighting the county’s commitment to quality healthcare, Governor Nyaribo emphasized that the initiative aims to deliver essential surgical services to residents, particularly those from vulnerable families who often cannot access such critical care.
“The experts, in diverse fields, will work with our medical team in actualising surgery services to the people,” the Governor said.
“We look forward to delivering the best, especially to those who are at risk of missing such critical medical care, which is out of reach for some vulnerable families.”
The surgical camp, running from January 11 to 16, 2026, will take place at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital, with the visiting American doctors collaborating closely with local healthcare professionals.
The Governor urged eligible residents who have not yet registered or undergone screening to do so immediately.
Registration and screening are available at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital as well as sub-county hospitals in Ekerenyo, Manga, Keroka, and Esani.
These medical camps bring together international expertise to address surgical needs in underserved areas, offering hope and life-changing interventions to many.
Governor Nyaribo expressed gratitude to the partners making this possible, stating: “Thank you Medical Missions and The Guardian Angel Company for partnering with us in this noble assignment.”
The camp is expected to provide much-needed relief and advanced surgical care to hundreds of patients in Nyamira County and surrounding areas.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity before the camp concludes on January 16.
