In a push to boost youth participation in the upcoming 2027 elections, Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Clive Gisairo has introduced incentives aimed at encouraging Generation Z to register as voters, even as he reflected on significant strides made in his constituency during 2025.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page,Gisairo announced the distribution of gifts, including pairs of sneakers, to selected young winners who registered during a recent bursary forms collection exercise.
“We introduced incentives to encourage more Gen Z youth to register as voters, with selected winners receiving a pair of sneakers during the bursary forms collection exercise,” he said.
“At Engoko Centre, we presented the gifts to the latest winners.”The MP emphasized the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) headquarters in Manga, urging young people to seize the opportunity.

“For us to achieve meaningful change in 2027, it is crucial that young people rise to the occasion and register to vote,” Gisairo added.
“This remains our most effective tool in the fight against autocracy.”The call comes amid growing concerns over low voter turnout among the youth in past elections, with leaders across Kenya seeking ways to mobilize this demographic ahead of the next polls.
In a related New Year message delivered yesterday, Gisairo took stock of his tenure, expressing pride in accomplishments across key sectors as 2025 drew to a close.
“We have closed 2025 and we have welcomed 2026,” he stated. “As leaders, we have to be accountable for time served, and as we close this year, I am proud to say that we have achieved a lot in education and security sectors.
We have also ensured that all our roads are motorable and comfortably so.”Highlighting specific milestones in education and infrastructure, the MP detailed: constructed 107 new classrooms, renovated 25 classrooms, and ongoing construction of 38 more; built 35 complete six-door latrines with 11 others in progress; purchased 5,190 lockers; installed six high masts for improved lighting; and constructed 10 chiefs’ offices with five more underway.
On financial support for students, Gisairo noted that over KSh 184 million in bursaries had been disbursed over the past three years, benefiting secondary and tertiary education.
“Our goal is to serve, and serving we will,” he affirmed, looking ahead to the remaining 19 months before the 2027 elections.
